Mount Ommaney Police go green

The Member for Sunnybank, Mr Peter Russo MP, attended the Mount Ommaney Police Station on Monday September 11 to inspect the solar panels recently installed, as part of the QPS Electricity Optimisation Project.

The solar panels, along with lighting and power board upgrades at the station will provide substantial cost savings with electricity demand, particularly during daylight hours, being considerably supplemented by this system.

Power usage is higher during the day at the police station as a number of administration staff and our district property office operate during office hours. The solar panels will help Mt Ommaney police reduce their electricity bill and also their carbon footprint.

The senior leadership team from South Brisbane District, along with station members, were present during the inspection.
